“The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest the patient in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” –Thomas Edison
The primary purpose of chiropractic is to locate and correct subluxations of the spine, thus restoring your body to its sense of ease. Detecting subluxations can be a complicated process. The chiropractor’s job is to pinpoint the exact location of a spinal subluxation and correct it through a series of treatments that may include electrical stimulation, compression, decompression, thermal heat application, and/or spinal manipulation that realigns the vertebrae.
This realignment is accomplished through a series of chiropractic adjustments specifically designed to correct the vertebral subluxations in your spine. Doctors of Chiropractic are the only professionals who undergo years of training to learn how to detect, treat, and correct spinal subluxations and other problem areas of the spine.
Chiropractors use their hands to feel the vertebral bones for even the slightest misalignment or displacement. They may also use x-rays or other instrumentation, such as nerve conduction technology or reflex response, to confirm their findings and assess the severity of the subluxation.
Chiropractors adjust spinal vertebrae to correct subluxations, thus relieving the discomfort, distress, and pain many patients experience. Chiropractors may employ different adjusting techniques (because all bodies are different), but all adjustments are designed to achieve one specific goal—release the displaced vertebra from its incorrect position, allowing it to shift back into natural, healthy alignment, restoring vitality and health to internal organs and improving overall well being. When the vertebrae are returned to their correct alignment, the nerve impulse that carries messages to and from the brain can continue on its normal course unimpeded.
